A Guesthouse in the Clouds is a bed and breakfast on a mountain top in the southwest mountains of Piedmont, Virginia, a short fifteen minutes from Charlottesville. The guest houses are situated in a peaceful, quiet setting where deer and wild turkeys can be frequently seen.
The rural setting makes it seem as if you are miles from civilization, but in reality you are only minutes away from plenty of shopping, restaurants and wineries in and around the Charlottesville area.

Guest Houses
mett.in Each of the three beautiful private guest houses are heated and air conditioned with a large sitting room, fireplace, and complete kitchen with some essentials provided such as coffee, sugar, tea, dishes, flatware and cookware. All have private baths, queen-size beds, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. All sheets, bedding and towels are provided.
Four separate accommodations are offered:
The Lodge is a 1,500 sq. ft. house located near the swimming pool, ideal for families. It includes a master bedroom with a queen bed, and a two-room suite, one room with a queen size bed and the other with two single beds. It has two baths, a large living room with cathedral ceiling, a fireplace, and windows on three sides to enjoy the view. Also included is a full kitchen with dining area. The Cottage is next to the Lodge and pool, but separate and private with 800 sq. ft. of living space. Ideal for couples or a small family, it is a one bedroom with a queen bed, one bath, and has a living room with fold out queen sofa, and kitchen.
The Studio is a cozy, small cottage on the edge of the woods. It offers one bedroom with queen size bed, one bath, sitting room with a gas/fuel oil fireplace, and kitchen. It is a nice private retreat for a couple. Template:Clearleft
The Annex Suite is located in a private wing of the 3,000 sq. ft. main residence. It has a large 15’ x 16’ bedroom, a bath with huge tub and bidet and sitting room with a fireplace. Breakfast is served to those staying in the Annex Suite, so there is no kitchen available. The view of the Blue Ridge from the patio and two rooms is spectacular!
Amenities
The houses are filled with books and antiques for a cozy feeling that make you feel right at home. Outside you can enjoy the patio with gas grill, swimming pool and hot tub.
There is no daily maid service provided, however, the maid does usually tidy up on Monday, Wednesday and Friday if you have been there for a couple of days.
Children are welcome, but no pets are allowed for the consideration of other guests. There is no cable TV, only PBS, ABC and two other local channels along with a VCR. Internet access can be obtained with a good wireless card.
Additional Information
The town of Charlottesville includes attractions such as Jefferson’s Monticello and Madison’s Montpelier which are some of the main tourist attraction of the city.
